Next week I am lucky enough to go away for a long weekend with some friends for some relaxation at the beach. While trying to decide what to bring, I have realised the trusted cut-offs are the staple for the majority of outfits. The tops and bikini might vary from day to day. Now I just need to think about night time…What is your holiday “uniform”?

Its that time of year again, neither hot nor cold and an embroidered, boho top covers a multitude of occasions and unexpected weather patterns. Right now pair it with boyfriend jeans and later in the summer it comes into its own for relaxed summer days with cuts offs, skirts or a simple cover up on the beach or poolside. There is plenty to choose from right now and as usual Isabel Marant is one of my favourites.
Here are some other of my current favourites
In the run up to Christmas and New year you may have a few extra occasions to dress up. So with that in mind I have been thinking of a few outfits that may give some inspiration on what to wear. Everything must be tactile and cosy for the season that’s in it – fur, sequins, gold, mohair, leather. I’m thinking of a plethora of occasions – Christmas parties, walks with friends, carols, lunches or just entertaining at home.
I love this jumper from Zara and its making me crave a frosty walk followed by a pub lunch in front of a log fire.
This cosy mustard cardigan and sequinned top with boyfriend jeans is definitely a look for ladies who Christmas lunch. Have a look at this gorgeous honey cardigan from Malene Birger and sequin top from Linea weekend. As usual the 1969 boyfriend jeans from Gap are the boyfriend jeans of choice as they are so comfy and the sizing is just right for me.
While we are talking about sequins, the skirt, the trousers and the dress may be cool looks to try although I am not advocating that they all go together. Have a look at this beautiful embellished skirt from All Saints here or these fabulous gunmetal sequinned trousers from Topshop here.
I love Christmas Wishlists. Obviously, top of my list would be world peace, an end of poverty and for my little family and friends to be very happy but in the meantime a girl can dream….
We are starting cheap but bear with me! This case is very cute and according to reviews looks much more expensive than it is. I’m loving everything Chanel at the moment so it might be one for the stocking.
I actually tried this bra on in Marks and Spencer the other day as I was attracted by how pretty it was. The fit was amazing which I was uber-impressed with as I am a funny size. Sometimes with lingerie if its sexy it ends up being uncomfotable but this ticks both boxes. This is absolutely gorgeous and definitely going on the Christmas wishlist.
Now as perfumes go this one is a bit on the pricey side but it is very sensuous and will have people remembering you by your scent. I had a little spray of this one a couple of weeks ago and loved it and it lasted all day. It contains Black Truffle and Ylang mingled with fresh Bergamot and Blackcurrant which sound interesting but it has got to be sniffed to be believed. Give it a go the next time your passing a perfume department. You will love it. Sorry!
Obviously these are a retro classic and just ooze coolness. One you try polarised you will never go back. Oh the lust!
I have been after a Michael Kors watch for a while as earlier in the year my watch died. However I was torn between tortoise shell and rose gold for what seems like forever. Decisions, Decisions! The tortoise shell won. No matter what the outfit I think Michael Kors watches add the finishing touches, adding that expensive, polished look even if you have just thrown something together.
Last but not least I came across these last minute while deciding on the watch. Obviously they will require a different mood to the stacking rings but you know a girl can never have enough jewellery.
If you like this list I am constantly adding more stuff (just for research I might add) so feel free to have a peek at Products I like on Pinterest.
So I do have a confession to make. I did manage to slip something small into the suitcase at the weekend and sneak it home. I had a quick peek in Zara and this dress reminded me of baroque theme going on with Stella Mc Cartney this Autumn and the Matthew Williamson embellished jacquard dress. So at that price it would be criminal to not try it on. Surprisingly it was really flattering on, much better looking than on the hanger and much longer than on the model. She must be very tall as it came to just above my knee which is much more flattering than landing on the thigh (well mine anyway!) It is going to be very versatile. I can see endless ways to wear it, with boots stilettos or sandals, and a biker jacket, fake fur or a military coat.
Obviously this one from Net-a-porter is slightly more expensive but it is embellished with beads, sequins, studs and stones. I think I’ll find a necklace to do a similar job though!
Today I actually have a brief. I belong to a funky choir and on Sunday we are singing for charity. It even looks like good weather. Earlier on in the summer we had a few gigs where we got drenched to the skin. Still the show went but those rain ponchos are not a good look. On Sunday we need to dress in 1920’s gear for the festival. How exciting! As if we needed and excuse to shop. So right now we are off to source some vintage outfits . If nothing can be found I have a back up plan.
