The temperature is dropping and I’m looking forward to adding a few more layers for Autumn. I love this styling by Géraldine Saglio for Vogue Paris. I feel a wishlist coming on…
Thanks to FreePeople.co.uk for its the styling of the January collection. Its just what we needed to lift the post Christmas blues. “Girls on bikes” show boho, floaty dresses as the girls cycle though the streets of Amsterdam and not only make us covet the clothes but the bikes and the city also! Unfortunately it’s a bit hilly where I live, so to get the effortless laid back look I’m afraid it will have to be these Dutch bike-friendly streets. Maybe a mini city break could be on the cards soon. FreePeople and Refinery29 London are running a little competition to give one lucky reader (and their friend) £250 each to spend at freepeople.co.uk. Click here to enter. What is your favourite piece of the collection? I’m torn between the Urbanized Tuxedo Top and the New Romantics Sunshine Day Dropwaist Dress.
As we embark on these few weeks of festivities, its worth checking out this editorial from VOGUE JAPAN JANUARY 2013 – “Party Dolls”. As well as the perfect dresses, it also features divine shoes, jewellery and make-up. Ooh it’s such fun to bring on the bling.

More faultless styling at Elle Spain via VisualOptimism. I think dressing for the Christmas season is a bit of a minefield as you don’t want to look like a christmas decoration, (which I have seen endless times with people dressed head to toe in sequins). The tuxedo jacket, the biker jacket, the silk shirt and leather trousers are featured here which are all part of my capsule wardrobe posts. After this editorial I am now lusting for the Zara belt featured in the second from bottom photo in black and white and possibly “go faster stripes” trousers pictured with the white tuxedo jacket. What do you think of these go faster stripes or is the jury still out?
As the weather gets a bit chillier I have been thinking a lot recently about a coat purchase and I think it has to be of the boyfriend variety especially after seeing Vogue Russia’s offerings in September.
Obviously I dont’ think I will be able to afford that amazing blue example of perfection from Céline so I have put together a more affordable collection that would keep us snug in winter. The oversized tomboy style means that you can snuggle up with extra layers in winter and still look good. I also think it will be very versatile and you wont need to splash out on a smart coat as well. This will look good during the day with converse or biker boots but will glam up really well with heels and a clutch. I am torn between all of these so I need to get trying on. Decisions. Decisions……
What do you think? I would be interested to hear what winter coat you are thinking of purchasing this year.
